Student Support
St Philomena’s Inclusion team offers support to class teachers by way of identifying adjustments to classroom practises for children with disabilities and/or learning difficulties. Appropriate adjustments enable these children to access education equitably.
The inclusion team supports parents by providing information regarding accessing outside services such as pediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, etc. and includes background information for these specialists.
Educational assistants are part of the team that provides support in the classroom.
Educational assistants also support some children that access outside services to implement individualised programs.
The inclusion team collaborates with the CSO inclusion team to access information, advice and services they provide for children with disability and/or learning difficulties.
The inclusion team liaises with the school counsellor to provide a safe and supportive environment.
